Learn skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing English. Beginning, intermediate and advanced classes are offered September through June in the morning, afternoon, and evenings.

Our free in-person GED® classes are led by licensed teachers. The classes cover all GED® test subject areas including Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. 

REQUIREMENTS

• 19 years of age or older
  (17- and 18-year-olds may be accepted with an Age Waiver)

• CASAS Reading and Math scores of 5.0 and higher
  (CASAS tests will be given during registration)

SCHEDULE

Morning GED Classes (HyFlex- in person or online)

• Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Evening GED Classes (In Person) 

• Tuesdays 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Learn all the knowledge you need to pass the United States Citizenship Test. Improve your written skills, reading comprehension, oral interview skills, and get familiar with the 128 Citizenship questions!

Paraprofessional Prep Class 

Gain the knowledge to become a certified paraprofessional. Increase your career readiness skills and build a foundation for a potential future career as a teacher.

CNA Prep Class

This class will teach and reinforce communication and literacy skills and introduce entry-level record keeping and patient care for Health Science, specifically as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Fridays starting September 18, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Hyflex) 

Computer Class

Learn basic vocabulary and skills for using a computer, email, Microsoft Applications, Google Suite,  and the internet. This class includes time for practice and NorthStar Digital Literacy certification for successful test results. 

Fridays starting September 18, 9am-12pm (in person) 

ABE Drivers Education

ABE Drivers Education: learn all about the signs, rules, and knowledge you need to pass the MN Drivers Knowledge (Written) Exam. Once you successfully finish the class, you can take your permit test at our school, free of charge. 

Mondays-Thursdays: 8:30-9:30am (Hyflex)

Care Attendant (PCA) Class

Learn all the knowledge and skills that you need to become an in-demand, certified personal care attendant. At the end of the course, you will take the PCA Certification Test through MN Department of Health and Human Services, Level 3+

Mornings: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Hyflex)

Evenings: Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. (Hyflex)
