Student safety, both in school and at home, is a priority and the District Technology Department takes all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students. We follow the Federal Communications Commission’s Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) laws regarding internet safety. Under CIPA, schools are required to filter or block internet access to obscene content, pornography, and other sites harmful to minors.
Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Public Schools filters internet access from district-owned devices through firewalls and the Securly filtering system. Securly maintains the same filtering for the Chromebooks whether they are used in district or in a location outside the district such as at a student’s home. Filtering levels vary based on student grade.
Students will be using their One91 student account to access learning resources daily. It is important to keep this password confidential. Students may change their password through our district’s single sign on (SSO).
We are always looking for ways to improve our school climate, increase student learning, and partner with parents. If you have any questions or concerns regarding filtering, please contact the District Technology Director at 952-707-2065.
