Welcome to the ISD191 Teaching & Learning Department!
The mission of the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Public Schools and our Teaching & Learning Department is to prepare all students to be Real-World-Ready. The Teaching & Learning Department provides leadership and facilitates collaboration with ISD191 educators to ensure learning for all students. Professional learning and collaboration is a critical investment for continuously improving our instructional programs and student learning.
The Teaching & Learning Department is responsible for providing leadership in curriculum coordination and renewal, curriculum and technology integration, instructional programming, assessment, professional development, and innovative initiatives. These activities include the following:
- Leading the development and implementation of standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure that students meet district, state and national goals
- Assuring alignment and consistency of the curriculum within and across grade levels
- Providing research-based resources and instructional strategies that promote high expectations and learning for all students
- Guiding and supporting teachers and administrators in the implementation of research-based curriculum and instructional practices
- Organizing and delivering professional development for teachers and support staff
- Developing and implementing instructional programming based on data that targets student needs for their success
- Reviewing results of programs and practices to ensure efficacy, efficiency and to reflect current research
- Providing leadership and input on district, regional, and state committees and advisory boards
