Orchestra students from six schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 will perform in two upcoming concerts at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 22, and Tuesday, May 23, at the Marz Center at Burnsville High School, 600 E. Highway 13.
Nearly 180 middle school teachers in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 received Chromebooks on April 19 as part of Vision One91 and the district’s plan to increase classroom technology. All middle school students will receive the same devices before the start of school next fall.
Nicollet and Metcalf Middle School theater students are proud to present the classic American musical "Guys and Dolls."
Performances are March 15-18 at 7 p.m in the Mraz Center for Performing Arts at Burnsville High School, 600 E. Highway 13. All seats are $5. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show.

John Glas, a math teacher at Nicollet Middle School in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191, is one of 37 semifinalists in the 53rd annual Minnesota Teacher of the Year recognition sponsored by Education Minnesota.
From that group, about 10 finalists will be named in late March.
Quiz Bowl teams are new this year at the three middle schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 and recently teams from Metcalf and Nicollet middle schools competed at the EMERALD (Edgewood Middle Entirely Raucous Academic Learning Decathlon) tournament hosted by Edgewood Middle School in Mounds View.
“We had an excellent showing and I'm exceptionally proud of our participants,” said Coach Les Moffitt. “I love watching our students compete against and defeat other schools!”
At Nicollet Middle School we value having all of our parents/guardians attend conferences. We also value students attending conferences with their parent(s) or guardian(s). Your child is expected to attend conferences with you and be an active participant in the process. We want students to participate in conferences by providing information, answering questions, or discussing goals.
We hope you can join us and attend the Meet and Greet Open House at Nicollet Middle School on Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. The evening includes a scheduled team presentation for each grade, where the teachers will present information to families. The team presentations will be in the student cafeteria.

While high school athletics begin in August, middle school athletics will not begin until Wednesday, Sept. 7.
All middle school students (6th-8th grade) should participate on their middle school teams if that sport is offered at the middle school level. Parents of students who are planning to try out for a high school team in a sport that is also offered at the junior high should contact the head varsity coach directly.
