Burnsville running back selected to play in Minnesota Football Showcase

Burnsville High School senior Tre Thomas, a running back for the Burnsville football team, has been selected to play in the 45th Annual Minnesota Football Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 9 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

“This is a great honor for Tre to represent the Burnsville football program and community by participating in the Minnesota Football Showcase,” said Vince Varpness, varsity football head coach. “He has worked hard the past few years to put himself into position to become one of the top athletes in Minnesota.”

Martin and Olson selected to 2015 Minnesota Vikings All-State Team

Burnsville High School football players Kamal Martin and Benn Olson were selected to the 2015 Minnesota Vikings All-State Team and recognized at halftime on Sunday, Dec. 6, when the Vikings played the Seahawks at TCF Bank Stadium.
The 2015 team consists of 30 of the best prep players throughout the state as selected by a committee of sportswriters, broadcasters, Vikings staff and Minnesota high school football coaches.

Steph Olson, Burnsville football wins KARE11's hot highlight of the week

Trustone Financial presented the Burnsville football program with a check for $1000 on Wednesday, Oct. 21 for winning KARE11's hot highlight of the week contest. 

The award was given in response to Steph Olson's fumble return for a touchdown against Rosemount on Friday, Oct. 9.
