Seven new things in District 191 for 2019-20

Snow won’t stop learning

Severe weather will be less disruptive this year, with District 191 implementing a new plan for “Flexible Learning Days.” Under the plan, the first cancellation due to weather during a school year will remain a traditional cancellation. After that, Flexible Learning Days would kick in.

On a Flexible Learning Day, teachers, administrators and other licensed professionals will be available by email or Schoology from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. to answer questions, provide guidance or otherwise engage students.

Academic calendars set through 2019-20

Families that like to plan ahead will be able to do so now that the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education has approved academic calendars for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years.

Both calendars follow the general pattern of recent academic calendars for District 191, with school starting the day after Labor Day and ending in early June. However, there will no longer be a week-long fall break, with conferences being set in November, instead. Both school years still feature a week-long spring break in March.
