Applications are now being accepted to temporarily fill the District 191 School Board seat left vacant following the resignation of Jen Holweger on Oct. 8.
Residents who are interested in serving on the Board have until 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 to submit their applications. Application forms are available online at www.isd191.org or at Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Pkwy.
The School Board expects to interview applicants the week of Nov. 16 and make an appointment at its Dec. 10 regular meeting. All interviews will be held through video conference. The selected candidate is expected to be sworn in at the Jan. 14, 2021 Board meeting.
The person appointed will serve until a special election can be held. When the special election is held, the person elected will serve the remainder of Holweger’s term, which ends in January 2023.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have been a resident of the school district for at least 30 days, and not have been convicted of an offense for which registration is required under MN Stat. Section 243.166.
