State releases new guidelines for spectators at indoor activities

The Minnesota Department of Health released new guidelines yesterday to allow for up to two spectators per participant while still remaining under the venue maximums of 25% capacity and a total maximum of no more than 250. We realize this new information will be a cause for potential change on how spectators are handled at indoor events.

District 191 activities will not be immediately implementing these new parameters in order to develop plans along with our South Suburban Conference colleagues on how this can safely be done in each of our school buildings and facilities. These new guidelines require that we evaluate our plans for site set-up, advanced reservations, how much space is available, best locations for competitions, distance between spectators and competitors, proper ventilation as well as additional cleaning protocols.

Our goal is to implement these new guidelines in the safest possible way. BHS activities will provide an update as soon as specifics are available.
