District 191 will begin the school year with free meals for all children ages 1 to 18

Thanks to a federal program, Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 will provide free meals to all children ages 1-18 on all scheduled, instructional school days, including in-person and distance learning days. This will continue through Dec. 31, 2020 or until funding is exhausted.

Distribution Schedule

On Wednesdays, meal packs will be distributed at three locations for students’ distance learning days. Parents/guardians are expected to pick up meals from the location closest to their home.

Meals for distance learning days Sept. 10-11 and Sept.14-15 will be distributed on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All students will be given a 4-day pack of meals.

Beginning Sept. 16, meals will be distributed between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m on Wednesdays and are packed for one day, three days or five days, depending on your student's distance learning days. Breakfast and lunch meals are bundled together.

Meals will be distributed at the following sites:

  • Eagle Ridge Middle School (by the pool entrance), 13955 Glendale Road, Savage, MN 55378

  • Nicollet Middle Middle School (Door 20 near front entrance), 400 E. 134th St., Burnsville, MN 55337

  • Rahn Elementary School, 4424 Sandstone Drive, Eagan, MN 55122

To ensure the safety of staff and families, those picking up food at the distribution site will need to wear a face mask and practice social distancing protocols:

  • Vehicles will drive up to the designated location

  • Drivers will remain in their vehicle

  • Drivers will provide information (grade level and number of meals for each child, dependent upon their learning schedule) to site greeter

  • Greeter will place meals in trunk or back seat of the vehicle

  • Those who are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not pick up meals
