At its Sept. 12 meeting, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education voted to approve a new two-year contract with the Burnsville Districtwide Administrators, which represents 14 employees in district-wide positions, including department directors and licensed supervisors.
The agreement includes 1% increase in salaries in each year of the contract, as well as an increase of $500 in the district’s matching contribution to individual retirement accounts. Human Resources Director Stacey Sovine noted that the 1% increase in salaries is in alignment with other pay changes that have been approved already this year.
“We appreciate the DWA taking the initiative in this round of negotiation,” said Human Resources Director Stacey Sovine. “They came to the table early, understanding the district’s current financial situation and looking to reach an agreement that reflected that reality.”
The new contract is effective from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021. It brings a projected two-year total cost increase of $71,275 including salaries and benefits over two years, compared to 2018-19 costs. The Districtwide Administrators are the first employee bargaining group to reach a contract settlement for the 2019-2021 contract years.
District 191 has 1,400 full- and part-time employees, making it one of the largest employers in Burnsville.
