This program recognizes students for their exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

The following students have earned this designation:

  • Chun Kit Chow

  • Emma Hakanson

  • Abigail Herzog

  • Abigail Rhode

  • Madeline Strey

  • Connor Van Dorpe

  • Erin Williams

These student scholars are among a select group of high performers who were named Commended Students, a designation that went to fewer than three percent of those who took the test.

Also this year, seniors Blake Andert and Trang Truong are among 279 students from Minnesota who have been named 2017 National Merit Semifinalists. Only semifinalists have an opportunity to continue in the Merit Scholarship® competition and advance to finalist standing by meeting a number of additional requirements.
