Many changes are taking place across the district, including grade realignment, expanded technology and increased opportunities for students.
“This seemed like the perfect time to update our district logo and add a tagline that summarizes what we’re all about,” said Ruth Dunn, the district’s communications director. “The revised logo and tagline truly reflect where we are now and where we’re headed: Future Ready. Community Strong.”
The new logo and tagline were created with input over the past three years and with the assistance of a district marketing advisory committee, comprised of parents, community members and staff members that met several times last fall.
Dunn said the new logo and tagline evolved out of the district’s Strategic Roadmap created by the Board of Education. It relates to the three major themes that now reflect the strengths and directions of the District 191 community: One91, Real-World Ready and #BurnsvilleStrong. One91 is an internal unity campaign that Superintendent Joe Gothard began when he arrived nearly three years ago. Each Student Real-World Ready is the district’s mission as developed by the Board of Education. And the third theme, #BurnsvilleStrong, began at Burnsville High School and has become a supportive and positive community movement.
The new logo and tagline will be phased in over the next few weeks so that it will be widespread when the new school year begins this fall.
