BHS student’s production will be featured in premier Minnesota film festival

Burnsville High School senior Scott Tinkham created a short film called "JERRAD" about Burnsville junior Jerrad Solberg that will be the featured selection at the EDU Film Festival, the premier Minnesota film event for high school students.

The film will be shown at noon on Friday, May 13, at the ShowPlace ICON Theater in St. Louis Park, and will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Scott and Jerrad.

"'JERRAD' is about a kid with cerebral palsy,” said Scott, “It is about him overcoming his limitations, and not letting his disability define who he is.”

Scott said he capitalizes all the letters in the title "JERRAD" because it's a story that can apply to anyone in their own walks of life, not just Jerrad.

Scott has earned three NATAS-Upper Midwest Region Student Video Production Awards for his video productions in the past two years and will study film production at the University of Arizona next year.
