Burnsville High School senior Scott Tinkham won a 2016 NATAS-Upper Midwest Region Student Video Production Award on Sunday, April 10. Winners were announced at a ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Hotel at the Mall of America.
Scott won the animation/graphics/special effects category for a walkout video that played on the new video scoreboard in the stadium for the Burnsville football team. [Link to winning video]
Scott was also was nominated in the high school sports category for a hockey highlight video he produced. [Link to video]
Scott won two NATAS awards last year. He won the high school sports category for highlight videos, which he shot and edited for the Burnsville football team. He also won the PSA category for a video on energy conservation.
This year, the NATAS – Upper Midwest Chapter received more than 260 entries from 40 different high schools and colleges/universities from across the region. The Upper Midwest Region includes schools from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Burnsville students have won 13 NATAS awards over the past four years.
Next year, Scott will attend the University of Arizona to study film production.
