Six DECA students qualify for state

Thirty Burnsville High School students competed at the Minnesota DECA State Career Development Conference on Monday, March 7 at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency. This year's theme for the State Career Development Conference was 'Be Epic.'

There were 2,000 participants overall, and six BHS students qualified for the final round, including Allen Davis, Cullen Kittams, Bailey Kump, Ben Milhaupt, Blake Robinson and Emma Toomire.

Additionally, Emma Toomire ranked sixth for her innovation plan, and duo Bailey Kump and Emma Toomire ranked fourth for their Community Service Project.

"We had more success this year than ever before," said DECA advisor and business teacher Meggan Malone. "To place in the top twelve among that many students is amazing!"
