Gideon Pond parents celebrate FIRE Academy graduation

Parents in the Gideon Pond FIRE (Family Involvement for Rich Education) program participated in a graduation ceremony on Dec. 8. Seventeen parents participated in this fall's FIRE class at Gideon Pond, which is designed to help parents who are originally from Somalia learn about the American educational system and how they can support their children’s learning at school and home. The goal is to form a stronger partnership of parents and school staff that will benefit students and their academic success.
