Kamal Martin named a finalist for the 2015 Mr. Football Award

Burnsville High School senior Kamal Martin has been named one of the 10 finalists for Mr. Football in Minnesota.
The 10 finalists for the 2015 Mr. Football Award (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Tyler Johnson, Mpls. North QB/FS, Twin City Blue 1A
  • Kamal Martin, Burnsville QB/DB/LB, East Metro White 6A
  • David McCuskey, Orono RB, Suburban White 5A
  • Bishop McDonald, North St. Paul DB/RB/R, East Metro Red 5A
  • Dillon Raddunz, Becker OL/DL, East Central North 4A
  • J.D. Spielman, Eden Prairie RB/WR/DB/R, West Metro South 6A
The Mr. Football Award, which was first presented in 2004, is an honor given to the top high school football player in the state of Minnesota. It is sponsored by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) and the Minnesota Vikings. Nominees must meet the following criteria for the Mr. Football Award:
  • Nominee must be a graduating senior.
  • Nominee’s Head Coach must be a current member of the MFCA.
  • Nominee must not have any MSHSL violations.
  • Each player must be nominated by their conference/MFCA representative.
The winner of the 2015 Mr. Football Award will be presented at the Mr. Football Banquet on Sunday, Nov. 22 at noon at the DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis, located at 1500 Park Place Blvd., Minneapolis, Minn. 55416.
