BHS winter concert series begins Dec. 11

Burnsville High School choirs and bands will perform at two concerts in December in the Mraz Center for the Performing Arts, adjacent to the high school at 600 East Highway 13.

There will be two choir concerts for the price of one on Friday, Dec. 11. At 6:30 p.m., the concert includes Women's Chorus, FreeStyle and Blaze Choir. At 8 p.m., Bel Canto, FreeStyle and Concert Choir will perform. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at BHS in the main office beginning Thursday, Dec. 10 or at the door on the night of the performance. Anyone who buys a ticket for the first concert is welcome to stay for the second one. 

Holiday favorites will include "Deck the Hall," "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," "Let is Snow," "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World."  

​FreeStyle will also be having a bake sale, so bring extra cash for holiday goodies! ​

Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band and Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. on Dec. 15, and the Symphonic Band and Varsity Band will perform at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17. 

Choir directors are Martha Schmidt and Erik Akervik while band directors are Keith French and Molly Holmes.
