Overview

The District 191 Board of Education agreed to move forward with a search to find a permanent superintendent to replace Dr. Theresa Battle, who announced she will retire from the district after the 2024-25 school year.

On Thursday, March 27, the Board hired the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) to help conduct the search. MSBA provides various support services for school boards across the state, including conducting about 80% of superintendent searches over the past year.

Detailed information about the search, including the timeline, can be found below.

Timeline Update - Please note that on April 23, the Board adjusted the timeline for  conducting first round interviews. Those special meetings will be held April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and May 1 at 4:30 p.m.

Community Engagement

Community members in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 were invited to give input through an online survey as part of the superintendent search process. Staff, students, parents and other community members were asked what skills, areas of expertise and personal characteristics they think are most important in candidates. The Board of Education will use that input as they interview and consider candidates.
