ParentSquare

District 191 uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number.

We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. Parents are not required to download the app to view messages from the school district. However, downloading the app makes it easier to receive and respond to messages.

Overview of ParentSquare

Using the ParentSquare mobile app

Starting on Sept. 20, District 191 will change the default setting in its mass notification system so that parents and guardians receive text notifications when messages are sent out by schools or the district. By default, the texts will be “digests,” meaning parents will receive one text message letting them know about all posts or alerts that were sent from their children’s schools or the district over the whole day.

Read More about Families will receive text notifications by default starting Sept. 20
