Foundation 191 grants to fund over $25,000 in projects around District 191

Twenty-three grants totaling over $25,000 will fund projects that will benefit students around District 191 starting in the 2023-24 school year.

The grants were awarded by Foundation 191, in partnership with the Jill Haddorff Memorial Fund. Foundation 191 is an education foundation that began in 2007 with the mission to enrich, enhance and expand educational opportunities for District 191 students.

“I am so proud to be a part of continuing the effort of the founding members in support of staff initiatives to provide an enhanced curricula, creative outlet, and a well-rounded educational experience for our students by funding innovative programs and activities,” Foundation 191 President Robbie Bunnell said.

Among the projects approved for grants were staff professional development opportunities and accessibility at Burnsville High School, PBIS and classroom projects at Burnsville Alternative High School, 3D printing at Eagle Ridge Middle School, AVID projects at Nicollet Middle School, sensory materials, collaborative work space materials, classroom enhancements, and other projects that support social-emotional learning at the elementary level, Bowls for BrainPower and a Dramatic Play Center for Community Education, and GED student scholarships for Adult Basic Education.
