District 191 wins three SUN Newspapers Readers’ Choice Awards

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 received three 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards from SUN Newspapers. Newspaper readers voted to determine the winners of the 15th-annual local awards. 

Burnsville High School Principal Jesús Sandoval was awarded the Readers’ Choice Award for Best Principal. Sandoval has served as principal at BHS since 2023. 

Gideon Pond Elementary was awarded the 2025 Readers' Choice Award for Best Public School. Gideon Pond serves students in kindergarten through 5th grade and has previously won statewide awards for academic excellence and outperforming expectations.

District 191 was also named Best Place to Work. The district is one of the largest employers in Burnsville with about 1,200 staff members in a variety of roles both in direct education and in support roles such as finance, human resources, maintenance and more.
