District 191 School Board chooses firm to lead superintendent search
- Announcements
At its March 27 meeting, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education selected the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) to lead the district’s search for a superintendent to replace Dr. Theresa Battle, who is retiring after this school year on June 30, 2025.
MSBA provides various support services for school boards across the state, including conducting about 80% of superintendent searches over the past year.
Barb Dorn will lead the search process for MSBA, which she said will include opportunities for community members to provide input into the kind of leader they want for District 191. Using that input and direction from Board members, MSBA will develop a leadership profile, which will be used to recruit a slate of candidates for the Board to consider.
Board members noted MSBA’s experience and success in conducting superintendent searches as reasons for confidence moving forward. A planning meeting will be held March 28 to determine the search timeline and start developing the leadership profile.
News and updates will be posted at www.isd191.org/superintendent-search as the search progresses.
