About the District
District 191 serves the communities of Burnsville, Eagan and Savage. Our district is located about 15 miles south of the Twin Cities. We serve approximately 8,000 students and employ about 1,200 staff members. District 191 is made up of two high schools, Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School, two middle schools, eight elementary schools, a K-12 virtual academy, and a comprehensive community education program that provides opportunities for learners of all ages.
The city of Burnsville sits on a bluff overlooking the south bank of the Minnesota River. The area features a regional mall, numerous restaurants and coffee shops, parks and trails, the Ames Performing Arts Center, portions of Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve and Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, and Buck Hill Ski and Snowboard Area. It's located just minutes from the Mall of America, Minnesota Zoo and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Become a Substitute
District 191 contracts with Teachers on Call, A Kelly Services Company, for substitute teacher, educational assistant and custodial staff management. Anyone interested in serving as a substitute in District 191 must register with Teachers on Call. Other substitute positions, including Food Service, will be posted on the district's Employment website.
