District 191 residents are represented by a seven-member Board of Education, which is responsible for setting the direction of the district by establishing a Strategic Roadmap and district policies, approving an annual budget and tax levy, and hiring the district’s superintendent.
Board members are elected to four-year terms. Elections are held in even-numbered years, with three seats up for election in one cycle and four seats up for election in the other. More Elections Information
Meet the ISD 191 Board of Education
On Thursday, Oct. 8, District 191 School Board member Jen Holweger announced her resignation from the board, effective at the end of the meeting. As required by state law, the Board will make an appointment to fill the vacancy until a special election can be held.
