For elementary learners in District 191, we begin to unpack the world of possibilities and explore healthy and meaningful expression. We want students to experience joy and growth, and to nurture curiosity as they consider the future.

Fifteen Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 staff members are being recognized for their extraordinary contributions to the One91 community with 2025 Community of Excellence (COE) Awards.
As she works through her final months as a senior at Burnsville High School, Allyson Bergemann is focused on her goals of learning everything she can to prepare for college and a career in the culinary industry.
Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 received three 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards from SUN Newspapers. Newspaper readers voted to determine the winners of the 15th-annual local awards.
In February, several students at Eagle Ridge Middle School participated in the regional National History Day competition held at Central Middle School in Eden Prairie. One project, “The Grimké Sisters,” by seventh graders Bersabeh “Bersy” Chakiso, Harmony Mayes and Kamyah Michel, advanced to state competition. The students chose to do an exhibit, which included a process paper and annotated bibliography.
At the March 13 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Theresa Battle announced her intent to retire on June 30, 2025, at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
District 191 Superintendent Dr. Theresa Battle submitted her initial budget proposal for the 2025-26 school year to the Board of Education at its March 13 meeting. Members of the District 191 community are invited to review and provide feedback on the proposal.
Pam Voigt, District 191 Community Education’s BrainPower in a Backpack coordinator, has been named a Civic Learning Week All Star.
“I probably would have been a mechanical engineer if not for my experience at the Mraz. I hadn’t been around the electrical side and that experience is something I really enjoyed,” Lucas said.
On Friday, March 28, District 191 will have an “Early Release” day. This means the school day will end 2.5 hours earlier than normal for all students in grades K-12 to provide time for teacher and staff professional development.
Jairo Leana has spent his three years at Burnsville High School taking numerous classes in engineering and construction and gaining as broad of range of experiences as he can.

The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Board of Education unanimously appointed Tyler Sachse, a parent of District 191 students, to fill a vacant seat on the Board.
Burnsville High School senior Mesaiya Bettis, a finalist for the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year and Ms. Baden Award, was named an All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and named to the 2024 Star Tribune All-Minnesota Volleyball team.
Burnsville High School teacher Maggie Mayernik is among the 142 teachers nominated for the 2025 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award.
Congratulations to seniors Jane McGuire and Mason Pederson, selected as this year's Triple "A" Award recipients at Burnsville High School.
As a sophomore, Allen learned about the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Pathway at Burnsville High School. By the time he graduated in 2018 he'd gained valuable skills and knowledge directly related to his career aspirations.
Once again, staff members will be presenting “Class Acts,” a comedy variety show, to raise scholarship funds for graduating seniors in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191. This is the 37th year of staff performances in District 191.
Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 is proud to continue the Caring Community Series, a four-event series designed to support the well-being of One91 students and families. The third session will take place Jan. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Nicollet Middle School, 400 E. 134th St. in Burnsville.
