Hidden Valley teacher Stephanie Cin
is named District 191 Teacher of the Year


Stephanie Cin was named the 2013 Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Teacher of the Year during a reception honoring all building teachers of the year on May 8.

After a career in social work, she joined District 191 in 1998 as a classroom teacher and taught third and sixth grades before becoming a behavioral interventionist and assistant principal at Hidden Valley Elementary School in Savage. She also serves on the school's leadership team and is the school's volunteer coordinator.

Open houses slated for family programs

Mark your calendars for these upcoming Open Houses for ISD 191 families:

Early Childhood Programs Open House and Spring Celebration
  • May 15, 3-5:30 p.m.
    Diamondhead Education Center
    200 W. Burnsville Pkwy in Burnsville

  • May 15, 5-6:30 p.m.
    Hamilton Building
    4735 W 123rd St in Savage

The District 191 Early Childhood Family Education, Preschool Plus, Tiny Tots, Ready to Grow and Ready to Learn programs are hosting a Spring Celebration and Open House. This is the rescheduled Week of the Young Child event, we are fairly certain winter has moved along and will not deter us again (knock on wood)!

We have fun planned inside and out with family-friendly activities.

The EDGE for grades 6-9 is holding an open house on May 14 from 5-6 p.m. at Harriet Bishop Elementary School in Savage. You can learn more about the amazing things kids do at the EDGE online at http://communityed191.org/page/2548.

And finally, Summer Break by Project KIDS for grades K-7, will host their open house on Wednesday, May 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Diamondhead Education Center. Pick up your paperwork and have your questions answered. Kids will be able to get their field trip t-shirts and meet their Summer Break staff! Staff will be available to help you access your online account!
