BHS senior awarded for extraordinary volunteer service Burnsville High School senior Kaylee Snyder received the Minnesota Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Outstanding Youth Leadership Award on March 6 in recognition of her own extensive volunteer contributions as well as her leadership in getting her classmates involved in community service.
Snyder has contributed more than 95 hours of volunteer service at a variety of places including two assisted living residences for the elderly, an adult day care facility, an animal shelter, a half-marathon for the benefit of homeless teens, and craft classes for adults with disabilities.

Save a Life Adult Community Education is offering CPR and First Aid classes this spring. The courses are offered in partnership with the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. All AHA classes qualify for CEU's.
BLS Healthcare Provider Adult, Infant and Child CPR CPR Heartsaver/First Aid Combo Infant and Child CPR CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Challenge Lifeguard Challenge for Certified Lifeguards
Participants will be provided with handouts and hands-on experience with life-like mannequins. BLS Heartsaver and ARC certification cards will be given to students who successfully complete specified courses.

Community members 45 years and older, who live, work or play in the Burnsville area are needed to complete the Burnsville Community Survey.
Results from the survey will help shape the kinds of programs and activities to be offered in the future.
