Goeldner named Sky Oaks principal
 Drew Goeldner, currently principal at Rice Lake Middle School in Wisconsin, will take over as principal at Sky Oaks Elementary starting on July 1.
The move will be a homecoming of sorts for Goeldner, who began his teaching career as a substitute in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191. His experience also includes time as teacher, math coordinator and curriculum coach in St. Paul Public Schools, and principal at Haugen Elementary in Rice Lake.

Find summer fun at "The EDGE"
 What are you doing this summer? The EDGE is a comprehensive youth program for students in grades 6-9 with a focus on building community, independence, communication and socialization skills in a fun, recreational and educational environment.
At the EDGE, kids are:
• Active and out in the community.
• Taking exciting trips each day.
• Involved in community service opportunities.
• Involved in planning have choices in activities.

Intra-district integration plan
being developed at Sky Oaks
Sky Oaks Elementary School is more racially diverse than the average of schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191. Because of this, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requires the district to develop a plan to increase interaction between students at Sky Oaks and other schools in the district and expand education opportunities designed to close the academic achievement gap. This intra-district integration plan must be approved by the state.
