Nominations for inductees into the 2012 Hall of Fame at Burnsville High School (BHS) are due by March 2.
Nominations can be submitted electronically at the BHS Athletics home page.
The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals or organizations that have made exceptional achievements in their field, significant contributions to BHS and/or unique contributions to the community on a local, state, national or international level.
The Hall of Fame Committee will review all nominations during the months of April and May. The names of those selected will be announced in June. New members will be inducted and honored during a ceremony in late summer/early fall of 2012.
Last year's inductees were Mary Ryan Ajax, Adam Bailey, John W. Bergman, Tom Osiecki, Amy Stromwall and John Sullivan.
The first 20 members of the Hall of Fame were inducted in August 2006 during the school’s 50th anniversary celebration. They are: Cameron Beckman, Vic Berra, Todd Boonstra, Peter Daly, Kirk Detlefsen, Troy Gronseth, Dick Hanson, Bob Keeney, David Knutson, Ron and Joyce Lund (Cornerstone Copy Center), Holly (Manthei) Doyle, Tom Melchior, Tim Nichols, Mark Osiecki, Suzanne (Roell) Grimm, Joel Ronning, Ted Seidel, Kenneth Storm, Nancy (Swanum) Hart and Janet (Bohn) Williams.
The six inductees in 2007 were Tony Ashworth, Gary Barta, Bonnie Burak, Bob Lattery, Thomas Mraz and Wilfred Williams and the six in 2008 were John Campbell, Howard Hall, Carlene (Widmer) McDowell, Bob Pates, Melissa Peterman and Thomas Wise.
Inductees in 2009 were Dr. Michelle Brown, Dennis Dale, George Harris, Todd Okerlund, Richard VanderLaan and David Voracek. The 2010 inductees were Jason Bruce, Katy Christoferson, Stanley Lo and Tamara Baldwin Perez.
Their photos are displayed in the hallway outside the main office at the high school.
