Looking for a meaningful way to spend your day? Look no further. Volunteering at Rahn is a great way to spend your day! Working in the media center, listening to kids read, or just helping out in the office are all little things you can do to help that make our school an even better place! So if you are looking for your next opportunity, look below and follow the links if you would like to sign up!

Child Care Opportunities
Parent information nights are an important part of our school's growth and community building. It is important for as many parents as possible to be able to attend these events. That is why we ask for occasional childcare. This is an ongoing sign-up looking for childcare for some of our information nights. If you are interested in helping out with childcare at any of our events, please sign up here: Child Care

Media Center:
The media center is looking for a few volunteers who would be able to drop in as your schedule allows, to help organize the library, and maybe do a monthly bulletin board!  If you are interested in helping out in the media center please sign up here: Media Center

Fall Dance:
Looking for a fun night out with the family!  Look no further! Rahn’s Fall Dance is fast approaching and it is sure to be a fun night!  Come and celebrate the start of a new school year with a DJ in the gym!  We will be serving food in the cafeteria as well, and could use few volunteers to help out with food sales, if you are available and able to help out with this please sign up here: Fall Dance

Brain Power Pick Up
Brain Power in a Backpack is a volunteer project of ISD 191 Community Education and Burnsville High School.  Our high school students pack weekend food for elementary students in ISD 191 whose families struggle to put enough food on the table.  Since academic performance is related to nutrition, our goal is to improve the learning experience for children by providing them with some extra food for the weekends.  We are looking for volunteers to pick up the food at the high school on Thursdays after high school and bring it back to Rahn.  If you are interested in helping for any of the Thursdays, please sign up here: Brain Power

Blaze:
Being Blaze at our Character Counts events and other events throughout the school year is a very rewarding experience.  The kids love to see Blaze and it is lots of fun to dress up!  If you are interested in being Blaze please sign up here: Blaze

Barnes and Noble Night
Looking forward to a fun filled night at Barnes and Noble in Eagan, Town Center. Friday, December 1st Barnes and Noble will be hosting a bookfair for us!  This is a fun event where the children can get together outside of school, listen to the band and hear a great new story! It is great time to finish up (or get started on) your Christmas shopping, or get started on it!  We are looking for people to be greeters, do gift wrapping, work at the coloring table, someone to be Blaze, and someone to read to the kids.  If you are interested in any of these things, please sign up here: Barnes and Noble Night

Rahn Yearbook  --  Order yours today!
This year, the yearbook will be in FULL COLOR and will feature the Top 5 winners of our cover contest!  First place will get the front cover and the next 4 runners up will share the back cover.  Yearbooks will be delivered to the students the last week of school.  Yearbooks are $15 cash or check (payable to Rahn PTO) or you may order online here:

You may add a donation to your online order or send your donation, in an envelope, to school labeled “Attn: Yearbook” with a note inside saying that the money is a yearbook donation.  Please specify if you would like your donation to go to a certain class or grade level.  If no designation is made, the donation will go to a general fund for all students.

Rahn Yearbook Pictures  --  Calling on our school photographers!
Did you capture some great photos at an assembly, on a field trip, or in the classroom?  The yearbook relies on our Rahn community to help us capture all those wonderful memories.  Please consider sharing your photos with the yearbook by uploading them using the Community Upload link below.  You will be asked to enter your name, email and to create a password.

Remember all photos must be full resolution (some phones may say “Original Size”)  but no larger than 10 MB.  While traditional cameras typically have the best results for printing, many cell phones now have greatly improved the quality of their camera and can also be used.  Please include a label with your photo (example: 3rd grade party, Band Concert, Student Council, Character Counts, etc).  Note: photos that are too small of a file size (typically under 2 MB) cannot be used, as they are too pixelated for printing.

The community upload folder can only hold 60 images, at a time and needs to be emptied by a yearbook volunteer, on a routine basis.  If the folder is full, please, try your upload again at a later date.  Upload only your very best images and typically only a few from any one event.  While every effort is made to include as many photos as possible in the yearbook, it will be determined by the yearbook staff which photos will be in the final book.

Join the Rahn Yearbook Staff!
The Yearbook needs your help!  Creating the Rahn Yearbook is a very big job made up of many small tasks.  While we are always looking for photographers to help capture all the events that happen at Rahn, we are also in need of people to help work online to build the pages and organize photos, help with the Yearbook Cover Contest, help with Lifetouch picture days, and selling the books the last week of school.  Some tasks require people to be at the school, while others can be done at home, on your computer.  If you are interested in volunteering with the yearbook please contact the Yearbook Advisor, Joey Pederson at joeyeldeen@gmail.com .

Support Rahn the 2nd week of every month
McDonald’s Night
The 2nd Tuesday is our new Rahn McDonald's night from 4-7:30 pm!  Come on down to the McDonald's off of Nicols Rd, say you are with "Rahn Elementary" and 15% of your purchase will go to the Rahn PTO!  Also, if you come inside to visit with other Rahn students and staff, there will be coloring sheets with a coupon for a free Happy Meal, on your next visit.  Plan a playdate with your friends and head over to McDonald's every 2nd Tuesday to support your school!  **Remember you must tell the cashier that you are with "Rahn Elementary" for the school to benefit.**
Fill Up for Rahn
The 2nd Thursday of every month is "Fill up for Rahn," at the BP gas station off Nichols and Diffley Rd.  All day long, Rahn gets 5¢ of every gallon of gasoline sold!  You don't even have to mention Rahn.  

Important Update: This year in order to comply with district policies, as a new security measure,  we are going to need parents volunteering with students one on one, or in small group settings and parents going on field trips to complete a background check. The cost will be covered and you will only need to complete it once, then we will have you on file. So if you are planning to volunteer please take a quick moment to complete this document Background Check Document and return it to the school.
