About Hidden Valley

At Hidden Valley Elementary School, we serve a diverse community of about 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. We are focused on creating a positive learning environment that encourages, enriches, and supports life-long learning opportunities for students, staff, and parents. We believe that meaningful partnerships between parents and staff members promotes a healthy school climate. Internally, we are intentional in providing collaborative opportunities among our staff to ensure high-quality, rigorous instruction for all students.

What Makes Us Unique

Environmental Learning - Hidden Valley is fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with the nearby McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center. An annual all-school field trip has students learning about local flora and fauna, ecosystems, and threats to environmental health. In addition, students can participate in our Environmental Club, a science-focused after-school group that gets kids active in the world around them.

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration - Our school’s continuous improvement plan focuses on providing opportunities – through purposeful scheduling and dedicated staff professional development time – for teachers to work together, planning how best to meet students’ individual needs. Dedicated time for literacy and math instruction allows for targeted enrichment and intervention opportunities.

Community Support We enjoy tremendous community support, headed by an incredibly active Parent Teacher Organization. Over the last year, parents and other community members raised nearly $10,000 toward building a new school playground.

Academics and Activities

We provide a variety of academic programs and unique student activities that support students as they become the best learners and citizens they can be.

Full-Day, Every-Day Kindergarten - At Hidden Valley, every student can attend full-day kindergarten for free. There is no greater investment than in early learning, and we are committed to providing the resources our students need to succeed.

Specialists - Education is about more than just math and reading. All students have art, physical education, science and music classes, too.

Band - Students in fifth and sixth grades can explore instrumental music as part of the Hidden Valley band, receiving small group lessons, full band instruction, and performance opportunities.

Project KIDS - Before and after school care option for school-age children.
