At Vista View Elementary School, we serve a diverse community of about 350 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are focused on instilling in our students a passion for lifelong learning and helping them reach their fullest potential.

Mission

Vista View is a safe, welcoming place to learn where all students are valued, challenged, and supported by our families and staff so that every learner experiences academic and personal growth.

Vista View waa meel ammaan ah oo soo dhawayn  fiican waxna lagu barto oo ardaydoo dhan lagu qiimeeyo, wax adagna la baro, lana taageero xaga  qoysaska iyo shaqaalaha si ilmo kastaa khibrad waxbarasho iyo koriin uga qaato.

Vista View es un lugar seguro y agradable para aprender donde todos los estudiantes son valorados, desafiados, y apoyados por nuestras familias y personal para que todo estudiante experimente crecimiento académico  y personal.

What Makes Us Unique

wildlife refuge tripLeadership Development - Much of our work focuses on instilling leadership characteristics in our students, including Building Community, Demonstrating Drive, Showing Integrity, Acting Responsibly, Committed to Learning and Celebrating Strengths. Activities throughout the school year provide opportunities to learn and demonstrate these skills, culminating in a leadership retreat for 5th and 6th grade students in the spring of each year.

ROAR Program - We understand that students learn best when they are in a safe and supportive environment. Through our ROAR (Respectful, On Task, Achieving, Responsible) program, we are ensuring students understand the high expectations we have for them both in their studies and in their social interactions. Being clear and consistent about these expectations, with students and families, along with encouraging positive behavior, has a tremendous benefit for our entire school community.

Wildlife Refuge Partnership - Vista View is fortunate to have a unique partnership with the Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge. That partnership provides opportunities for students to learn about nature from experts and then explore nature themselves through excursions to the nearby refuge.

Academics and Activities

We provide a variety of academic programs and unique student activities that support students as they become the best learners and citizens they can be.

Full-Day, Every-Day Kindergarten - At Vista View, every student can attend full-day kindergarten for free. There is no greater investment than in early learning, and we are committed to providing the resources our students need to succeed.

Specialists - Education is about more than just math and reading. All students have art, physical education, digital learning and music classes, too.

Band - Students in fifth grade can explore instrumental music as part of the Vista View band, receiving small group and full band lessons, as well as performance opportunities.

Project KIDS - Before school care option for school-age children.
