About Sioux Trail

At Sioux Trail Elementary School, we serve a diverse community of about 435 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. With talented and dedicated staff, and support from parents and community members, we are focused on providing education that responds to our students’ needs, meets and exceeds state standards, and fulfills the mission of our district to make each student “real world ready.”

What Makes Us Unique

Volunteer AppreciationCommitment to the Environment - We pride ourselves on teaching and practicing respect for our environment. Our students are leaders in the school when it comes to our energy efficiency efforts and our recycling/composting program.

Community Connection - One of our greatest strengths as a neighborhood school is our connection to the surrounding community. Whether its our “Safe Routes to School” project that made walking and biking to school a better option, our annual volunteer appreciation day when we serve coffee and juice to neighbors on their way to work, or simply naming our hallways after local roads, we are always celebrating and strengthening our connection to the community that supports our students.

P.R.I.D.E. - We know that students learn best when they feel safe and part of a supportive community. Through our PRIDE program (Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Determined and Excellent), we stress the importance of good character, acknowledge those students who demonstrate it, and model it every day.

Academics and Activities

We provide a variety of academic programs and unique student activities that support students as they become the best learners and citizens they can be.

Full-Day, Every-Day Kindergarten - At Sioux Trail, every student can attend full-day kindergarten for free. There is no greater investment than in early learning, and we are committed to providing the resources our students need to succeed.

Specialists - Education is about more than just math and reading. All students have art, physical education, science and music classes, too.

Band - Students in fifth and sixth grades can explore instrumental music as part of the Sioux Trail band, receiving small group and full band instruction, as well as performance opportunities.

Chess Club - The game of kings: Members compete with one another and at local tournaments throughout the year.

Project KIDS - Before and after school care option for school-age children.
