Elementary Chess

District 191 schools have strong traditions of success among their chess clubs, including several state and national team championships. All 10 elementary schools have their own chess clubs.

Learning and playing chess is known to promote creativity and strategic thinking, and its a great opportunity for students to exercise their brains in a team and competitive atmosphere.

Registration for elementary school chess clubs is run through District 191 Community Education, with sessions starting in the fall and spring. Practices are generally once a week. Register online now.
