Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Superintendent Joe Gothard announced this week that Stephanie White be the district’s director of Individualized Student Services, which includes special education services and health services for students from birth to age 21. Her appointment was approved by the Board of Education on March 23.
White comes to District 191 with a wide range of experience as a leader of specialized student services. She has spent the previous four years as director of student support services in Mankato Area Public Schools, with seven years as a coordinator and 10 years as a special education teacher prior to that.
“We have found her to be a leader who values partnerships, equity, innovation and high expectations for herself, students and staff,” Gothard said. “She has a deep understanding of the birth to adult education system and is driven to work with district leaders, principals, and the student support teams to eliminate barriers for students and families so they can access an educational experience that provides options for life.”
Gothard added that White’s previous colleagues hailed her as a knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated advocate for students.
White will begin her tenure on July 1. She will be replacing Stephanie Corbey, who is retiring this summer after 18 years leading specialized student services in District 191.
