During a special meeting on April 17, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education unanimously selected Dr. Theresa Battle as its preferred candidate for superintendent.
UPDATE (April 13, 2019)
Dr. Brenda Cassellius has withdrawn as a candidate for the District 191 superintendent position and the schedule of all-day interviews is being adjusted as a result.
Dr. Theresa Battle's all-day interview in the district will be moved to Wednesday, April 17. Dr. Ryan Laager's interview will remain on Tuesday, April 16. There will be no superintendent interview on Monday, April 15.
All other details will remain the same.

At the Oct. 11 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Cindy Amoroso announced her intent to retire on June 30, 2019, at the end of the 2018-19 school year.
Amoroso was hired as assistant superintendent for Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 in 2013 and named interim superintendent in 2017. She has spent more than 25 years as an educator, including elementary and secondary teaching, curriculum development, instructional leadership, and both school- and district-level leadership.

In a statement following their formal performance evaluation of Superintendent Joe Gothard, members of the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 Board of Education praised Dr. Gothard for his leadership over the previous year and for preparing the district to succeed in years to come.
