Sky Oaks Elementary was selected to present at the Collaborative Approach for Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) inaugural SEL Exchange, held Oct. 2-4 in Chicago. The conference attracted 1,500 leaders and experts committed to SEL (social and emotional learning) from more than 30 countries worldwide.

In one way or another, Meghan Jermeland has been part of Class Acts since it began 30 years ago in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191.
She grew up with it and has continued her commitment to the annual teacher comedy variety show, which has raised a total of $345,000 for scholarships for graduates at Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School.
All staff members at Sky Oaks Elementary spent time writing "Impact Statements" at the beginning of this school year. These clear statements of commitment to students, each other & the entire Sky Oaks community are now displayed prominently inside the front door so that students, staff & parents are reminded every time they enter the school.
