Eight schools in District 191 receive exemplar status for 2018-19

Eight schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 have been recognized for achieving Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Sustaining Exemplar status through the Minnesota Department of Education.

Gideon Pond, Harriet Bishop, Hidden Valley, Marion W. Savage, Neill, Sioux Trail, and Sky Oaks elementary schools and Eagle Ridge Middle School have been identified as exemplar schools that have completed PBIS implementation and are continuing to achieve positive student outcomes.

Student voices will help build positive culture at Metcalf Middle School

Student leaders at Metcalf Middle School recently gathered with new administrators at their school to share ideas and opinions about revising the school’s positive behaviors and interventions plan (PBIS).

“For you to take time to attend on a summer day speaks highly of you and your commitment to our school,” said Associate Principal Akram Osman. “We want to make Metcalf Middle School the best middle school in the country and we need your ideas to do that.”

Two District 191 schools receive state recognition for positive behavior programs

Two schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 have been selected by the Minnesota Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) State Leadership team to be recognized for excellence in using the PBIS program.

PBIS is a framework or approach that schools use to support positive behavior, improve school climate and increase the success of all students.
