Theater students from Metcalf and Nicollet junior highs will be presenting the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "Oklahoma!" this spring. Performances will be March 4-7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mraz Center for Performing Arts at Burnsville High School.
Students wishing to participate in spring athletics must complete and submit the following to Burnsville High School or to their respective junior high prior to tryouts or practice. This information can be turned in at anytime up to start dates. Please submit information as soon as possible.
Aradhana Menon, an eighth grader at Nicollet Junior High in Burnsville, along with seventh grader Chance Persons of Metcalf Junior High in Burnsville, and sixth grader Joshua Holden of Marion W. Savage Elementary in Savage, have all qualified to compete in the 2015 Minnesota Seven County Metro Area Regional Spelling Bee, which will take place on March 21 at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
Parents are invited to learn about teen drug and alcohol abuse at “A Night to Know the Truth” on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicollet Junior High, 400 E. 134th St., Burnsville.
When Amy Stead selected a play called "The Track Home" for junior high students to perform this fall, she had no idea it was written by a former student in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191.
A group of teachers and administrators from Twin Cities Metro area schools visited Nicollet Junior High in Burnsville to learn about how the school has implemented its Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program on Oct. 23. The event was one of only a handful of AVID “showcases” in the Midwest this year, designed to provide an opportunity for educators to see an AVID implementation, share best practices, and learn more about AVID in a hands-on manner.
There are numerous opportunities for junior high students to participate in winter sports, including at Nicollet and as part of teams at Burnsville High School.
