BHS students qualify for state DECA competition

Sixty Burnsville High School students who are members of DECA recently competed in the District 2 Conference with their written projects, presentations and role-plays.

Twenty-nine of the students have qualified for the State DECA Conference in March with nearly 20 of them placing in the top third in their section event and receiving trophies. Many of the students qualified in multiple events.

Buy a "DECA The Halls Mocha" to support #BurnsvilleStrong

Burnsville High School DECA students are working with JoJo's Rise & Wine, located in Burnsville's Heart of the City, to create a signature coffee drink called DECA The Halls Mocha. For every DECA drink sold during December, JoJo's will donate $1 to the #BurnsvilleStrong movement.

Not only will you get to enjoy a rich, chocolaty beverage, but you'll be supporting a great cause, too. Win-win!

Ready to get your "Orange" on?

Burnsville football is hosting its first “Tackle Cancer” game on Friday, Oct. 10, as they play against the Lakeville North Panthers. Don't forget to pick up a Burnsville DECA-designed t-shirt for $10. Seniors can also purchase a shirt in the office at the Senior Campus.

SuperFans are staging an “orange out” that night, so be sure to wear your orange to the game in support of our Tackle Cancer efforts.

Peanut butter, egg, cheese, jalapeño peppers and hot sauce?

Students are once again partnering with Burger Jones, a Burnsville restaurant, to offer the popular “Blaze Burger” throughout October. The juicy, all-beef patty is beautifully topped with a brilliant mix of pepper jack cheese, jalapeño peppers, a fried egg, hot sauce and peanut butter. Can you say, "Yum?" For each Blaze Burger sold, $1 will be donated to the Randy Shaver Fund.
