BHS students participate in national day of volunteer service

This was the fourth annual year that BHS students participated in this national event created by the U.S. Department of Education to encourage students to give back to their school community in an environmental way.

BHS students are finalists in Prudential Spirit of Community Award program

Olivia Brammer and Egeziharya Yilma were selected to be among six Distinguished Finalists from Minnesota for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. This is the highest honor for volunteering that any Burnsville High School student has attained.

“To have both of them selected for this award is amazing,” said Bri Ostoff, Community Education Youth Service Coordinator. “We can be very proud that Burnsville High School students have received this level of recognition for their community service.”

Three District 191 community members receive city award

Three members from Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 were among the recipients of 2016 Community Builder awards presented by the Burnsville City Council on Oct. 18.

The awards have been presented annually since 1998 to recognize individuals, groups or businesses that have made contributions that build community, performed outstanding acts of bravery, or made a lasting impact on the quality of life in the City of Burnsville.
