BHS Olympic Weightlifting team takes first at meet; Schiller sets new state record

The Burnsville Olympic Weightlifting team placed first at the Northfield meet on Saturday, Jan. 17. Michael Schiller set a new Minnesota state record (247 total kilograms or 543 pounds) in the varsity 77kg weight class by lifting 107kg (235 pounds) on the snatch and 140kg (308 pounds) on the clean and jerk. BHS students qualify for state DECA competition

Sixty Burnsville High School students who are members of DECA recently competed in the District 2 Conference with their written projects, presentations and role-plays.

Twenty-nine of the students have qualified for the State DECA Conference in March with nearly 20 of them placing in the top third in their section event and receiving trophies. Many of the students qualified in multiple events.

Academic Resource Center open to all students, provides help for finals

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is available to all students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-4:00 p.m. in the Media Center.  Don't miss out on this important opportunity to organize, study and clarify any of your academic needs.

On Thursday, Jan. 8, the ARC will have extended hours so that students can get additional help with studying for exams. Plus, there will be catered food for those who attend the finals prep session. Join us from 2:15-5 p.m. in the Media Center to prepare for your finals!
