In one way or another, Meghan Jermeland has been part of Class Acts since it began 30 years ago in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191.
She grew up with it and has continued her commitment to the annual teacher comedy variety show, which has raised a total of $345,000 for scholarships for graduates at Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School.
Older and wiser after completing his first semester at Harvard University, Trang Truong returned to Burnsville High School to share advice about the college experience with current students in December.
The 2017 graduate reports that Burnsville High School prepared him for college success. Because the school is diverse, he was comfortable relating to all kinds of people at Harvard. Other students, who had not attended a diverse high school, had culture shock.
Burnsville High School alumna Becky (Girtz) Keily visited the Burnsville High School Career Center on Thursday, Oct. 6 to discuss her career as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy Praia in Cape Verde, West Africa.

Seven individuals and an entire team will be inducted into the Burnsville High School Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
The newest Hall of Fame class will be inducted at a free public ceremony on Friday, Oct. 2, in the school’s Mraz Center for Performing Arts. A reception will take place at 5 p.m. followed by a program at 5:30 p.m. and recognition during halftime at the football game that night.
Best wishes to former Blaze Nordic skier Vivian Hett (Northern Michigan University) and current skier Kelly Koch as they compete in the USSA Cross Country Junior National Championships. Metcalf Junior High language arts teacher (and Burnsville High School alumnus) Steven Orth received a surprise visit from WCCO-TV reporter Kim Johnson this week as a station nominated him as an "Excellent Educator." The station praised his ability to connect with students and provide meaningful advice about more than just language arts.
The Burnsville High School Hall of Fame Class of 2014 represents the tremendous breadth of success achieved by members of the BHS community both at the school and beyond.
