To celebrate members of the Class of 2019 and help the One91 Community get to know some of the students at Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School, we're publishing several "Senior Profiles" as we gear up for commencement ceremonies the week of June 3. Congratulations to all of our seniors!

2019 Senior Profile: Jacob Otto
Who was a favorite teacher or staff member & why?
Mr. Tesmer has helped me gain many automotive, business, and life skills that no other teacher could. He is always honest and to the point, both qualities I respect and like in a person.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I will be going to boot camp to become a United States Marine.
How do you think you've changed as a person during the last four years?
I have become more confident, outgoing, driven, and humble.
What was the most difficult challenge you faced in high school?
Continuing to show up even when I felt I could not do it anymore.
What advice would you give to younger students to make the most of their high school experiences?
Take risks, ask out crushes, have fun, and be yourself because it is over before you know it.
How did your high school experience prepare you for your future?
It taught me how to be a team member, and that what you put in to your work you get out of it.
What makes you most excited when you think about your future?
I get to see the world while serving something bigger and better than myself. I get to be my own person.
