2018 Senior Profile: Mirlene Lomanga

What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduating, during summer I am planning to start working and then join college in the fall to study a course in the medical field — family practitioner.

How did your high school experience prepare you for your future?
High school experience has taught me to believe in myself, be responsible, work hard, never give up, as well as college and future readiness.

How do you think you've changed as a person at BAHS?
At BAHS, with help from all the  staff members, I have been able to bring the best out of me by excelling academically, setting goals and steps to reach them, as well as having a plan for my future.

What advice would you give to younger students to make the most of their high school experiences?
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, or even how you look, you can make the best out of you. Be yourself, put God first, don’t be afraid to try new things, but pursue activities that truly interest you. Have fun appropriately and be responsible. Try to be focused more on your studies than friends. Ask for help and advice from teachers and people you trust when needed. Set short and long term goals and steps on how you can accomplish them. Think about and start working for what you want in future. And finally, make the best out your time in high school.

To celebrate members of the Class of 2018 and help the One91 Community get to know some of the students at Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School, we're publishing several "Senior Profiles" as we gear up for commencement ceremonies the week of June 4. Congratulations to all of our seniors!
