2018 Senior Profile: Lauren Walker

What are your plans after high school?
My plans after high school would be to attend Alabama A&M University in the fall of 2018 and major in Marketing and minor in international business.

What was the most difficult this you faced in high school?
I moved around a lot throughout middle school and high school so loss of identity was a big problem; unstable home life was also a reason why I was diagnosed with moderate to severe depression, which made it very difficult to enjoy my high school experience the way I wanted to.

By the time I had got to my sophomore year, I lost myself completely because I missed a lot of opportunities for myself and by skipping numerous classes, which at the end of my 10th grade year made me realize my actions weren’t matching up with my expectations of myself.

How do you think you’ve changed at BAHS?
BAHS has changed me in so many ways as far being a better leader and more so being involved in my community and actually being aware and interactive with the people I’m around. You can only get these experiences from certain milestones in your life and I’m lucky enough to get this one

How did your high school experience prepared you for your future?
My classes that I have taken prepared me for what I intended. However, my experiences and memories have made me proud and assured of myself that I can be successful in my future. My teachers and mentors have paved my way and my building blocks - my experiences have made me confident in my future.
