2018 Senior Profile: Eyerusalem Abebaw

eyerusalem abebawWhat are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending Macalester College to study Political Science and International Relations.

What was the most difficult challenge you faced in high school?
I think the most challenging part of high school for me was finding the confidence to go outside of my comfort zone. Although I slowly began to overcome it by joining clubs and sports, it was something I continued to work on throughout.

What makes you most excited when you think about your future?
I'm excited to be in a totally new environment at college because I think it will help me grow as a person as well as meet new people from various places and backgrounds. I also look forward to finding more ways to be active in my interests such as being more politically active.

What advice would you give to younger students to make the most of their high school experiences?
My advice would be to try to make the most out of high school but to also not place too much pressure on yourself on making these four years or however much you have left perfect. It's okay if not every moment of high school is enjoyable, just try to find ways to go outside of your comfort zone. For example, join more clubs or find new hobbies and interests that will make the high school experience more enjoyable.
