October is College Knowledge Month

College Knowledge Month is a statewide program to help students explore their career and college options, plan for life after high school and complete college applications.

The goal of College Knowledge Month is to provide every graduating senior with the opportunity to learn about and apply to college, and to encourage younger students to start planning for life after high school. While much of the focus of College Knowledge is geared toward first-generation, low-income students, we encourage all students to participate in events to help them explore and prepare for post-secondary education, including certificate programs, two-year and four-year degrees.

Upcoming Events at Burnsville High School

  • College visits in the Career Center are scheduled throughout the month; go to Naviance under the college tab.
  • Financial Aid Night is Thursday, Oct. 12 in the Mraz Center at 7 p.m.
  • Free MN Application Week is Oct. 23-27; free app schools in Naviance on Home page under Pages.
  • Application Day is Tuesday, Oct. 24 all day in the Career Center; get help all day applying to colleges.
  • FAFSA Completion Workshop is Thursday, Oct. 16, 4 p.m.-7 p.m. in the Career Center.
  • Career Exploration guest speakers; see daily announcements and TVs for dates and times.
  • College Wear Wednesdays: Wear your college gear every Wednesday during October.
