Broadway musical, “The Music Man,” opens Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Mraz Center for the Performing Arts at Burnsville High School, located at 600 E. Hwy 13.
Based on the story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey, the production follows Harold Hill, a traveling con man who arrives in River City, Iowa, and convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him. His intention is to flee as soon as he receives the money but factors are complicating his plan.
Directed by Amy Stead, performances run Nov. 9-11 and 16-18 at 7 p.m. There is also a matinee on Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m.
Vocal Director is Gary Butler; Pit Director is Molly Holmes and Choreographer is Ann Bakken.
Tickets are $12 adults, $11 seniors, $10 students and District 191 badge holders are free. Tickets are available online or at the door. Please note that some performances may sell out and may not be available at the door for purchase.
