BHS grads will receive diplomas on June 10

At Burnsville High School, seniors will receive diplomas during the commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 10, in Pates Stadium next to the school at 600 E. Highway 13, Burnsville. Bleachers may be damp, so if you are attending please bring a towel.

Because there are fewer parking spaces due to construction, a free shuttle will be provided from Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway, to and from Burnsville High School for the ceremony. Shuttle buses will be running from Diamondhead continuously beginning at 5 p.m. prior to the ceremony and then continuously for one hour after the ceremony.  Buses will pick up and drop off at the Senior Campus main entrance in the upper lot and at the stadium entrance along the frontage road. Families are encouraged to use the shuttle because it will be difficult to find parking spaces at the high school.

Parking will also be available in Bosch lot (off Portland, on west side of school) beginning at 5 p.m. Handicap parking will be available on the frontage road on the south side of the stadium and in the north east (tennis) parking lot on the west end closest to the stadium.

Due to expected hot conditions, the Mraz Center will be available to watch the ceremony live (on a first-come first-served basis) and bottled water and Gatorade will be sold at the ceremony.

Student speakers at commencement will include DeAndrea Gray, Ian Harris and Angela Le. Musical performers will be Rachel Floersch, Jenna Graves and Lucas Heyne and Kallie Lyon.

Teachers, who have been selected by graduates to announce their names during the ceremony, are Chuck Croatt, Peter Feig, Marie Hansen, Jon Huber, Jenny Hugstad-Vaa, David McDevitt, Joe Meyer, Teresa Meuser, Terry Walters and Kathryn Wendling.

Handicap accessible seating will available along the first row of the bleachers in the stadium or gym.
